Medeologix Acquires Mediballoon, MedeonBio and Second Source Medical

Medeologix, a Taiwan-based MedTech CDMO, acquired three Silicon Valley contract manufacturers — Mediballoon, MedeonBio and Second Source Medical — to create an integrated end-to-end medical device development and manufacturing group. The combined organization brings together tubing extrusion, balloon forming, catheter processing, assembly, packaging and regulatory support, and links U.S. development centers with Medeologix's mass-production facility in Taiwan to support scale-up and commercialization.

Salona Global Acquires Mio-Guard LLC

Salona Global Medical Device Corporation (TSXV: SGMD) has executed a binding agreement to acquire Mio-Guard LLC, a U.S. medical device sales and marketing/distribution business focused on the sports medicine market. Mio-Guard reported approximately $3.6M in 2021 unaudited revenue, has over 50 sales representatives across the United States, and will be acquired from its owner Ken Zisholz in an equity-for-units transaction.

Surmodics Acquires Vetex Medical Limited

Surmodics, Inc. (NASDAQ: SRDX) acquired Galway-based Vetex Medical Limited to expand its thrombectomy portfolio with the ReVene Thrombectomy Catheter. The deal included an upfront payment of $39.9 million and up to $7 million in additional milestone payments (with $3.5 million guaranteed), giving Surmodics a second FDA 510(k)-cleared mechanical thrombectomy device and IP to accelerate its thrombectomy platform development.
