SER Capital Partners, a Redwood City-based middle-market private investment firm focused on sustainable industrial and renewable businesses, has received a minority growth investment from Capricorn Investment Group's Sustainable Investors Fund (Capricorn SIF). The partners at SER will retain control; Capricorn's investment will provide growth capital to expand SER's infrastructure, capital base, human capital and resources to support continued investment in sustainability-focused sectors. Financial terms were not disclosed.

SER Capital Partners has committed $82 million to invest in Brightcore Energy to expand the company’s balance sheet and accelerate deployment of clean energy and efficiency projects. The growth capital will enable Brightcore to scale its Efficiency-as-a-Service offerings — including solar, LED lighting, HVAC/geothermal, EV charging and battery storage — and pursue additional project financing and acquisitions.

BriteCore, a cloud-native core software provider for property & casualty insurers, received $47.5 million of growth capital led by Warburg Pincus with participation from existing investors Radian Capital and WCF Mutual Insurance Company. The funding will be used to accelerate product development, expand the team of insurance industry experts, and support customer growth.
