Constellation to acquire Rhode Island State Energy Center (RISEC) from Shell for $715 million

Constellation entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of RISEC Holdings, LLC, the owner of the Rhode Island State Energy Center, from Shell Energy North America for $715 million. The 609 MW combined-cycle natural gas facility is located in Johnston, Rhode Island and is expected to join Constellation’s merchant generation portfolio within ISO New England.

Shell signs Hunlock Creek Generating acquisition and agrees to sell RISEC to Constellation

Shell Energy North America (SENA) signed two related transactions as part of US power portfolio management: it agreed to acquire 100% of Hunlock Creek Generating LLC (Hunlock) and it agreed to sell its interests in RISEC Holdings, LLC to Constellation Energy Generation, LLC for $715 million. The transactions are subject to regulatory approvals and expected to close in the first quarter of 2027.
