Snuneymuxw First Nation (through PDG) to Acquire River Rock Casino Resort and Chances Maple Ridge

Petroglyph Development Group (PDG), wholly owned by Snuneymuxw First Nation, and Great Canadian Entertainment entered into definitive agreements for PDG to purchase two casino businesses: River Rock Casino Resort and Chances Maple Ridge. Closing is subject to regulatory and other approvals, after which PDG expects to become one of the largest casino operators by revenue in British Columbia and the largest Canadian Indigenous-owned gaming operator by revenue in Canada.

Indigenous Gaming Partners (IGP), a consortium formed by five Nova Scotia First Nations in partnership with Sonco Gaming and supported by VICI Properties, has acquired PURE Canadian Gaming from ONCAP (Onex) following regulatory approvals. PURE, based in Edmonton, Alberta, operates four casinos across Alberta with approximately 1,100 employees; financial terms were not disclosed.

Clairvest Group Inc., together with its Clairvest Equity Partners VI co-investment vehicle and gaming operator ECL Entertainment, acquired NHCG, LLC and The River Property & Hospitality Group, LLC — operators of the Lucky Moose Casino & Tavern and The River Casino & Sports Bar in Nashua, New Hampshire. The buyers plan to continue operations at the existing sites while developing a large-scale permanent historical horse racing (HHR) facility in Nashua, targeted to open in late 2024.

Hudbay Acquires Rockcliff Metals to Consolidate the Snow Lake Camp

Hudbay Minerals Inc. has agreed to acquire 100% of Rockcliff Metals Corp. via a court-approved plan of arrangement, paying 0.006776 Hudbay shares per Rockcliff share for an implied enterprise value of roughly US$13 million (net of cash). The deal consolidates Hudbay's ownership of the Talbot copper-gold deposit and significantly expands its prospective land package in the Snow Lake region of Manitoba to help extend mine life and provide optionality for Hudbay's nearby mills.

Salt Creek Capital, a San Francisco Bay Area private equity firm, has acquired a controlling stake in Nanoptix Inc., a Dieppe, New Brunswick-based manufacturer of thermal printing solutions for the gaming, lottery, kiosk and POS markets. Founder and CEO Daniel Vienneau sold his controlling ownership position and moved into an advisory role while long-time CFO Jacques LeBlanc was promoted to CEO to lead the company through its next growth phase.
