The Bukas Lighting Group, a St. Charles, Illinois–based holding company focused on lighting brands, has acquired SPI Lighting, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of commercial and architectural LED lighting based in Mequon, Wisconsin. The seller was the Doerr family; the acquisition expands BLG's portfolio of architectural lighting brands and preserves SPI's independent brand and manufacturing operations.

Illumus Acquires Barn Light Electric

Illumus, the Sanford, Florida-based lighting group, has acquired Barn Light Electric, a Titusville, Florida manufacturer of handcrafted, vintage-inspired architectural lighting. The deal (closed October 3) expands Illumus' multi-brand lighting platform by adding design-forward architectural fixtures and strengthening its U.S. manufacturing capabilities.

ALW — a US-based manufacturer of interior and exterior architectural LED lighting — will continue to operate as an independent brand and will leverage LMPG's technology, supply chain and operational capabilities; ALW's CEO Jeff Croskey will remain in his role and the business includes more than 375 employees.

Lightbulb Analytics will continue to operate under its brand and its telematics solutions will be integrated into AssetWorks' fleet management offerings; Professor Colin Tourick, owner of Lightbulb Analytics, commented on the transaction.
