Deutsche Börse Acquires Axioma and Partners with General Atlantic to Create Analytics and Index Business

Deutsche Börse agreed to acquire Axioma for US$850 million and will combine Axioma with its STOXX and DAX index businesses into a new company valued alongside the index business at about €2.6 billion. General Atlantic will be a minority investor (investing ~US$715 million) in the new company; the combined business will be led by Axioma CEO Sebastian Ceria and is expected to capture synergies of ~€30 million.

Integral Federal Acquires Pragmatics, LLC

Integral Federal has acquired Reston-based IT solutions firm Pragmatics, LLC to broaden its mission-critical support for national security customers. The deal adds Pragmatics' expertise in agile development, DevSecOps, cloud and other digital solutions to Integral's capabilities, enhancing its ability to deliver integrated services to federal defense, intelligence and civilian agencies.

Trading Technologies Acquires AxeTrading

Trading Technologies (TT) acquired London-based AxeTrading, a provider of fixed income trading solutions, to expand TT's multi-asset SaaS platform into corporate, government, municipal and emerging market bonds as well as OTC interest rate swaps. The deal broadens TT's offering across fixed income derivatives and U.S. Treasuries, integrating AxeTrading's pricing, quoting and execution capabilities into TT's global platform; terms were not disclosed.

MarketAxess Acquires LiquidityEdge

MarketAxess Holdings Inc. completed the acquisition of LiquidityEdge on November 1, 2019 for approximately $150 million (about $100 million cash plus 146,450 shares of MarketAxess common stock). The purchase adds an electronic U.S. Treasuries marketplace and broker-dealer capabilities to MarketAxess' fixed-income trading platform, expanding its treasury trading and hedging capabilities for institutional clients and dealers.

Thoma Bravo Acquires AxiomSL

Thoma Bravo has agreed to acquire a controlling interest in AxiomSL, a provider of cloud-enabled risk management and regulatory reporting software for banks, investment managers, broker-dealers and trading firms. Thoma Bravo said it will partner with AxiomSL's management to accelerate product innovation, expand cloud capabilities and grow the company's customer base; the deal closed with financing from several lenders and advisors were Evercore and Weil, Gotshal & Manges for AxiomSL and Kirkland & Ellis for Thoma Bravo.
