VERSANT Acquires Free TV Networks (FTN)

VERSANT completed its acquisition of Free TV Networks (FTN), a U.S. provider of national free over-the-air digital broadcast networks (“diginets”) and FAST channels. FTN will operate as a dedicated business within VERSANT to expand over-the-air and FAST distribution beyond traditional pay-TV, with FTN founder Jonathan Katz joining VERSANT and continuing to lead day-to-day operations.

Verizon Communications has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Frontier Communications Parent, Inc. in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $20 billion ($38.50 per share). The deal is intended to expand Verizon’s fiber footprint and integrate Frontier’s fiber network into Verizon’s Fios platform, with an expected closing in about 18 months subject to approvals.
