Bell's Foods LLC Acquires Bell's Seasoning Brand

Bell's Foods LLC, formed by three entrepreneurs including Dave West, has acquired the historic Bell's Brand (including Bell's Seasoning, Gravy, Brine and Onions) after the prior owner's financial difficulties. The new owners have restarted manufacturing and restocked core seasonings for the holidays, with Bell's Stuffing expected to return to shelves in early 2025.

Adams Flavors Acquires Goodman's Vanilla

Adams Flavors, Foods & Ingredients, a portfolio company backed by Midwest Growth Partners and partners, completed the acquisition of Goodman's Vanilla (Goodman's Flavorings) on September 29–30, 2024. Goodman's, a Marshfield, Missouri manufacturer of vanillas, flavor extracts and colors, is Adams' first add-on and will support regional expansion of Adams' branded products and the addition of spice offerings under the Goodman's banner.

Brynwood Partners' West Madison Foods Acquires Marie's and Dean's Dip from Ventura Foods

Brynwood Partners (through newly formed West Madison Foods) has agreed to acquire the Marie's salad dressing brand and the Dean's Dip business from Ventura Foods, including the Thornton, Illinois manufacturing facility. The deal is a corporate carveout/divestiture; West Madison Foods will be headquartered in Chicago and the Thornton plant (about 84 full-time employees) will continue to support the business.

Del Sol Food Company Acquires John Wm. Macy's Bakery

Del Sol Food Company, maker of BRIANNAS Fine Salad Dressings, has acquired John Wm. Macy's Bakery, a New Jersey-based manufacturer of baked cheese sticks, cheese crisps, and crostinis. John Wm. Macy's will continue operations in Elmwood Park, New Jersey, and the acquisition is intended to create product and operational synergies between the two companies.

The Middleby Corporation Acquires Flavor Burst LLC

The Middleby Corporation has acquired Flavor Burst LLC, a Danville, Indiana–based maker of automated flavoring and dispensing systems for soft serve, shakes, slushes and other frozen beverages. Flavor Burst, which generates roughly $5 million in annual revenue, will expand Middleby’s beverage and soft-serve product offerings and integrate with its existing Taylor equipment distribution relationships.

Brookside Flavors & Ingredients Acquires Flavor Advantage

Brookside Flavors & Ingredients LLC (BFI) has acquired the assets of Flavor Advantage, LLC, a Naples, Florida-based flavor house. Founder Tom Motz will remain with the business, and BFI said the acquisition will expand its sweet-flavor capabilities and customer relationships to accelerate growth using BFI's resources.
