UFP Technologies Acquires Contech Medical

UFP Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: UFPT) has acquired Contech Medical, Inc., a Providence, Rhode Island–based designer and manufacturer of class III medical device packaging for catheters and guidewires. Contech, founded in 1987 with partner manufacturing in Costa Rica and approximately $18 million in annual sales, will expand UFP's MedTech capabilities and is expected to be accretive to earnings.

UFP Technologies Acquires AJR Enterprises

UFP Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: UFPT) has acquired AJR Enterprises, LLC, a St. Charles, Illinois-based manufacturer of single-use safe patient handling systems, for $110 million. AJR generated approximately $70 million in 2023 (about $75 million LTM to March 31, 2024) and expands UFP's patient surfaces capabilities and geographic footprint.

DAS Health Acquires Automated Medical Systems

DAS Health, a Tampa-based health IT and management firm, has acquired Automated Medical Systems, a healthcare IT company headquartered in Valdosta, Georgia that serves clients across several Southern and Northeastern states. The acquisition expands DAS Health's EHR and service offerings (including Henry Schein's MicroMD) and strengthens its footprint and capabilities in practice management, RCM, managed IT and other value-based care solutions.

UFP Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: UFPT) acquired Universal Plastics & Engineering Company, Inc. (UNIPEC) of Rockville, Maryland, and Techno Plastics Industries, Inc. (TPI) of Añasco, Puerto Rico to expand its film and thermoplastic molding capabilities for the medical device market. UNIPEC (≈$5M revenue, $2M EBITDA) and TPI (≈$10M revenue, $1M EBITDA) will bolster UFP's thin-film and injection-molding capacity for implantable and other high-barrier medical applications; the deals were financed with cash and borrowings under UFP's credit facility.

DAS Health Acquires North American Digital Health Division from Canadian Provider

DAS Health Ventures (a Sheridan Capital Partners portfolio company) acquired the North American Digital Health division of an established Canadian digital transformation provider, giving DAS Health a footprint in Canada and expanding its senior care-focused health IT capabilities. The division adds managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud hosting, integrations, and revenue cycle management services to DAS Health's offerings as an add-on to its existing platform.

Spartech Acquires Tufpak, Inc.

Spartech, a St. Louis-based plastics manufacturer and portfolio company of Nautic Partners, has acquired Tufpak, Inc., an Ossipee, New Hampshire-based maker of medical-grade engineered plastic films and autoclave/biohazard bags. The deal expands Spartech's healthcare and biopharma packaging capabilities by adding Tufpak's proprietary polypropylene blown film extrusion technology and product lines.
