Anduril Industries Acquires American Infrared Solutions (AIRS)

Anduril Industries has acquired American Infrared Solutions (AIRS), a U.S.-based manufacturer of cooled infrared cameras and components. Terms were not disclosed; Anduril says AIRS will continue to serve customers from its New Hampshire facilities while AIRS hardware is integrated into Anduril's sensing and imaging product families.

Anduril Industries has acquired Area-I, a metro-Atlanta unmanned aerial systems developer and maker of the ALTIUS tube-launched aircraft platform. Area-I will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Anduril, expanding Anduril’s hardware portfolio and accelerating development of mission autonomy, intelligent teaming and related defense capabilities.

NIRAS Acquires Lorien Engineering Solutions from GP Strategies

NIRAS has acquired Lorien Engineering Solutions, a division of GP Strategies Corporation, to strengthen its engineering consultancy capabilities in the food & beverage, life science and advanced manufacturing sectors. The deal adds Lorien’s offices in Poland, the U.K., and South Africa to NIRAS’s global footprint and is expected to complete on 1 January 2024. The acquisition expands NIRAS’s process-industry expertise and international scale.

Automated Industrial Robotics Acquires Owens Design

Automated Industrial Robotics (AIR) has acquired Owens Design, a Fremont, California-based industrial automation firm, in a transaction funded by an Ares Management private equity fund alongside an equity roll by Owens Design leadership. The acquisition—bringing Owens Design's ~100 employees and 60,000 sq. ft. facility into the AIR platform—strengthens AIR's engineering capabilities and presence in the semiconductor, medical products and renewable energy end markets.

Albers Aerospace Acquires Undisclosed ISR Integration Company

DLA Piper advised Albers on the transaction, which Albers said will immediately expand its ISR capabilities and strengthen its mission-focused solutions for defense customers.

Anduril Industries Acquires Blue Force Technologies

Anduril Industries has acquired Blue Force Technologies, a North Carolina-based developer and manufacturer of large autonomous aircraft and composite aerostructures, including the Fury group‑5 autonomous air vehicle. The acquisition expands Anduril's autonomous portfolio into large, high-performance unmanned aircraft and will support expanded manufacturing operations in North Carolina; terms were not disclosed.
