Surge Private Equity Invests in Coastal Amusements

Dallas-based Surge Private Equity closed a majority investment in Coastal Amusements, Inc., a Lakewood, New Jersey designer, manufacturer and importer of coin-operated ticket and prize redemption games. NorthCoast Mezzanine and Minnesota Bank & Trust provided financing for the transaction, with BakerHostetler and Moss Adams advising and CoView Capital acting as Coastal's advisor. Surge said the partnership will support product development, growth initiatives and continued management continuity (founders Sal and Lenny will remain with the company).

Surge Private Equity Invests in Contractor Connect LLC

Dallas-based Surge Private Equity has closed an investment in Contractor Connect LLC, a B2B lead-generation and live-transfer platform serving the home improvement and remodeling market. The deal (Surge's 10th platform) includes debt financing from Modern Bank and Assurance Mezzanine Fund; founder Joseph Powless will remain as an owner and partner while Surge plans to scale into new verticals such as HVAC and solar.

Stage Acquires Coops and Feathers

Stage, a Denver-based private equity firm, acquired Coops and Feathers (formerly Innovation Pet), a U.S. provider of backyard chicken coops, accessories and all‑natural treats sold through big‑box retailers and direct‑to‑consumer channels. The investment will provide Coops and Feathers with capital and Stage's operating resources in marketing, sourcing, supply chain and finance to support scalable growth and expanded distribution.

Topspin Consumer Partners, a Mamaroneck, NY-based private equity firm, has made a growth investment in Coop Home Goods, a digitally-native designer and marketer of adjustable memory-foam pillows and sleep accessories. Founders Jin and Kevin Chon will remain in place to run the business, and the transaction was financed with debt facilities provided by Star Mountain Capital and BHI (Bank Hapoalim U.S. division).
