Altair Acquires Research in Flight (FlightStream)

Altair has acquired Research in Flight, the developer of FlightStream — a fast, low-footprint computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solver used heavily in aerospace and defense and increasingly in marine, energy, turbomachinery, and automotive markets. The technology will be integrated into Altair’s HyperWorks platform and made available via Altair Units to expand Altair’s aerodynamic simulation capabilities for customers including aerospace, defense, and advanced mobility sectors.

Firan Technology Group Corporation (FTG) has acquired all of the issued and outstanding shares of FLYHT Aerospace Solutions Ltd. under a court-approved plan of arrangement, with closing announced December 20, 2024. The deal, which used a mix of cash and FTG shares as consideration (subject to pro-ration and caps), expands FTG's presence in the commercial aerospace aftermarket and adds FLYHT's SATCOM hardware and data/analytics capabilities to FTG's portfolio.
