Global Payments Acquires Worldpay in Three-Way Transaction with FIS and GTCR

Global Payments has completed the acquisition of Worldpay from GTCR and FIS for $24.25 billion in cash and stock as part of a three-way transaction that also saw FIS acquire Global Payments' Issuer Solutions business for $13.5 billion. GTCR will receive a mix of cash and Global Payments stock and will retain approximately 15% ownership in the combined company; the transactions reposition Global Payments as a leading pure-play commerce solutions provider and bolster FIS' issuing capabilities.
