G.S. Precision Acquires SMC Aerospace

G.S. Precision, a portfolio company of AE Industrial Partners, has acquired SMC Aerospace, a family-owned manufacturer of engineered tubes and machined components serving the aerospace and defense markets. The add-on expands G.S. Precision’s capabilities in precision tube and machined part manufacturing and will integrate SMC’s New Hampshire facilities and leadership into GSP operations.

G.S. Precision Acquires F.T. Gearing Systems

G.S. Precision, a portfolio company of AE Industrial Partners, has acquired F.T. Gearing Systems, a U.K.-based manufacturer of highly engineered aerospace gears. The deal expands G.S. Precision's gear capabilities and provides access to F.T. Gearing's blue-chip aerospace and defense customers; the Fitzgerald owners will remain with the business. Terms were not disclosed.

AE Industrial Partners Acquires Majority Stake in York Space Systems

AE Industrial Partners has agreed to acquire a majority stake in York Space Systems, a Denver-based manufacturer of small satellites and turnkey mission operations, with funds managed by BlackRock Private Equity Partners investing alongside. The deal provides York with institutional capital to scale production capacity and accelerate growth across government and commercial satellite markets; CEO Dirk Wallinger and Chairman Charles Beames will remain in leadership and retain significant ownership.

AE Industrial Partners Acquires American Pacific Corporation

AE Industrial Partners (AEI) has acquired American Pacific Corporation, a Cedar City, Utah-based manufacturer of specialty chemicals and materials used in aerospace, defense, space launch and fire suppression applications, from Huntsman Family Investments. The deal, which closed Feb. 6, 2020, will position AEI to grow American Pacific as a platform investment and further support customers in national security and space programs.

GCM Acquires Assets of Precision Swiss Products

GCM, a portfolio company of Avista Healthcare Partners, acquired the assets of Precision Swiss Products (PSP), adding a state-of-the-art 50,000+ sq ft manufacturing facility in Wilmington, North Carolina. The asset purchase expands GCM's precision machining and micro-feature manufacturing capabilities and broadens its customer access across medical device, aerospace and semiconductor capital equipment markets.

Odyssey Investment Partners has acquired Aero Precision Industries LLC from Greenwich AeroGroup, a portfolio company of Berkley Capital (W. R. Berkley). Aero Precision, headquartered in Livermore, California with additional locations in San Francisco, Austin and Japan, is a distributor of military and commercial aerospace parts and provides MRO and repair/overhaul services; the deal was announced in mid-2016.
