Oak Hill Capital and Pamlico Capital Invest in IdeaTek Telcom and Socket Telecom to Build Midwest Fiber Platform

Oak Hill Capital and Pamlico Capital have made a strategic investment in IdeaTek Telcom and Socket Telecom, combining the two regional fiber internet providers to create a scaled Midwest fiber internet service provider. TPG Peppertree will sell its existing stake while reinvesting alongside the two firms; the combined company will expand fiber networks across Kansas and Missouri with a goal to pass over 500,000 homes in the Midwest by 2028.

Oak Hill Capital Backs Omni Fiber with $250M to Expand Midwest Fiber Broadband

Oak Hill Capital committed $250 million from its Oak Hill Capital Partners VI fund as the majority investor in newly formed Omni Fiber to accelerate construction of 100% fiber-to-the-premises networks serving small and mid-sized markets in the U.S. Midwest. Omni Fiber, an Ohio-based FTTP internet service provider led by CEO Darrick Zucco, will offer up to 2 Gbps symmetrical service with no data caps and initial projects in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan targeting underserved communities.
