GMF Capital Acquires Motorsport Network Media LLC

GMF Capital, the single-family office of Gary Fegel, has acquired a controlling majority stake in Motorsport Network Media LLC, a global digital motorsport and automotive media platform, for an undisclosed amount with an option to buy remaining minority interests later. The deal transfers nearly 50 flagship motorsport and automotive digital properties (including Motorsport.com, Autosport, Motor1.com, InsideEVs.com and Motorsport.tv) to GMF as it expands into the sports, automotive and media sector.

Liberty Media Corporation has acquired a majority stake in Dorna Sports S.L., the exclusive commercial rights holder of the MotoGP and WorldSBK championships, in a transaction valuing Dorna at an enterprise value of $4.5 billion and an equity value of $3.7 billion. Liberty bought approximately 86% of the company from Bridgepoint Capital and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, with Dorna management retaining roughly 14% equity; the acquisition has been completed and MotoGP is now part of Liberty's Formula One Group.
