Electrical Services Acquisitions in New York

Stark Tech, a Buffalo-based provider of building technology solutions, acquired Day Automation, a New York-based leader in building automation, security and energy management. The acquisition expands Stark Tech's regional footprint across New York and broadens its capabilities and service offerings—particularly in the K–12 education market.

Minuteman Security & Life Safety, a national security and life-safety systems integrator headquartered in Andover, Massachusetts, has acquired Buffalo-based Life Safety Integrated Systems Inc (LSIS). The acquisition expands Minuteman’s footprint in New York State and strengthens its local installation, service, and life-safety capabilities for healthcare, education and commercial customers.

Eastern DataComm, a safety and communications technology firm and portfolio company of Baymark Partners, has acquired Symbrant Technologies, a New York-based smart technology integrator. The deal expands Eastern DataComm's service offerings and footprint across the New York education sector and broader municipal and commercial markets.

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety has acquired Alarm Specialists Inc., a White Plains, New York-based provider of security and fire alarm systems serving the New York–Connecticut–New Jersey metro area. The acquisition expands Pye-Barker’s life-safety and security footprint in the NYC metro and adds Alarm Specialists’ capabilities in fire detection, access control, video surveillance and 24-hour monitoring to Pye-Barker’s nationwide platform.

E-J Electric Installation Co. has acquired Long Island City–based electrical contractor Lowy & Donnath Inc. The acquisition adds Lowy & Donnath’s century-long electrical contracting expertise—notably in the healthcare market—to E-J’s national electrical contracting platform and expands E-J’s capabilities in the New York metropolitan area.

Facility Solutions Group (FSG) acquired Lighting Management, Inc. (LMI), a Valley Cottage, New York-based lighting design and services firm, to broaden FSG’s national lighting service capabilities. The deal brings LMI’s lighting design, controls and project management expertise into FSG’s nationwide platform and expands FSG’s geographic footprint in the lighting services market.

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety has acquired Amherst Alarm, a Western New York fire alarm, security and monitoring provider headquartered in Amherst, New York. The acquisition expands Pye-Barker’s fire, life-safety and security footprint into Western New York and continues its aggressive Northeast roll-up strategy; Amherst’s founders Tim and Maryann Creenan will continue to lead the local team.

Green Mountain Electric Supply (GMES) acquired Vanderhoof Electric Supply, Inc. (d/b/a Falcone Electric), a Batavia, New York-based electrical wholesaler and retailer; the transaction closed October 3, 2022. Generational Equity advised Falcone Electric on the sale as GMES continues to expand its footprint and service capabilities across New York and New England.

SunGrid Holdings, an affiliate of Hull Street Energy, has acquired Black Electric Inc., an electrical contracting firm based in Fishkill, New York. The acquisition expands SunGrid’s northeastern U.S. footprint and adds local electrical contracting capability to support battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across New York.

Corbett Technology Solutions, Inc. (CTSI), a portfolio company of Wind Point Partners, has acquired Firecom, the largest privately held fire alarm company in New York City. The add-on expands CTSI's fire and life safety capabilities and geographic reach, enabling cross-selling of CTSI's central station monitoring, security, audiovisual, and other low-voltage solutions to Firecom customers.

Concentric, LLC, an OnPoint Group company, has acquired Mesa Technical Associates, a provider of DC power systems and turn-key engineering, installation and service for mission-critical infrastructure. The deal expands Concentric's critical power footprint into New York and the Northeastern U.S. while adding Mesa's technical talent and capabilities serving utilities, telecommunications and energy storage markets.

Corbett Technology Solutions (CTSI), a Wind Point Partners portfolio company, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire AFA Protective Systems, a long-established fire and security systems design, installation, and monitoring firm. The transaction is an add-on to the CTSI platform to expand its life-safety, security, nurse call, and low-voltage integration capabilities and geographic reach across the U.S. East Coast.

Kinzie Capital Partners, alongside co-investor Patriot Capital and Chelsea Lighting's management team, acquired Chelsea Lighting NYC, LLC, a New York–based lighting and lighting-controls distributor. The deal positions Chelsea to expand its national footprint and accelerate its Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and lighting controls capabilities while management retains significant ownership.
