HVAC & Mechanical Acquisitions in Alabama

SuperHero Fire Protection, a portfolio company of Hidden Harbor Capital Partners, has acquired Central Fire Protection, a Birmingham-based fire, life & safety services provider. The transaction expands SuperHero's footprint into Alabama, adds recurring inspection and service revenue, and retains founder D.J. Dotson as an owner and leader of the business.

Atlantis Fire Protection acquired Allied Fire Protection of Birmingham, Alabama and added its founder Tony Thomas to the Atlantis ownership group. The deal is an add-on to the Atlantis platform (which is backed by Lynch Holdings and Capital Alignment Partners) intended to expand the platform’s regional footprint and capabilities in fire protection services.

Air Conditioning Specialist, Inc. (ACS), a portfolio company of Hidden Harbor Capital Partners, has acquired Service Air Eastern Shore, a residential and commercial HVAC services provider headquartered in Silverhill, Alabama. The deal is an add-on acquisition to expand ACS’s footprint and service capabilities across southwest Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.

Southern Home Services, a Maitland, Florida-based home services platform, acquired Valley Heating & Cooling and McCutcheon Heating & Air, two full-service HVAC and indoor air quality providers in the Huntsville-Decatur, Alabama market. The acquisitions are add-on deals intended to expand Southern's geographic footprint and service capabilities in the region while retaining existing employees and local branding.

Leap Partners Holdings LLC, a Nashville-based home-services consolidation platform and portfolio company of Concentric Equity Partners, acquired George Plumbing, LLC, a residential and commercial plumbing business in Hartselle, Alabama. The owner, Greg George, sold the business and will remain in a leadership role as Leap Partners continues its roll-up strategy in the Southeast.

Southern HVAC Corporation acquired AirNow Cooling & Heating of Montgomery, Alabama, adding the local HVAC and electrical services provider to its family of home-services brands. The deal is Southern HVAC's first acquisition in Alabama and is intended to expand the company's geographic footprint while providing AirNow with access to training, sales, marketing and operational resources.

Fort Lauderdale-based Air Pros USA acquired Hansen Heating and Air, a Mobile, Alabama-based HVAC and home services provider. The deal expands Air Pros' Gulf Coast footprint and increases its technician and vehicle base as Hansen's owner, Chad Setchell, will remain to lead Gulf Coast operations.

Gryphon Investors has acquired Wittichen Supply Company, a Birmingham, Alabama–headquartered wholesale distributor of HVAC/R equipment, parts and supplies with 25 locations across Alabama, Georgia and Florida. The acquisition (financial terms undisclosed) will serve as a platform for Gryphon's Heritage Fund to pursue further industry investments while management remains in place with Charles Herring named president.

Dunes Point Capital (DPC) has formed Best in Class Technology Services (BCTS), a commercial HVAC services platform headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, through investments in Vulcan Heating and Air Conditioning Service, P1 Services, LLC, and Rieck Services, LLC. DPC’s Fund II provided the controlling equity and M&T Bank provided debt financing; the acquisitions combine ~12 locations across six states and roughly 450 employees under the new platform.

HomeServe USA announced the acquisition of Birmingham, Alabama-based Worry Free Comfort Systems, Inc., which does business as Freedom Heating and Cooling. The deal brings Freedom's team of more than 50 employees into HomeServe's expanding network as the company makes its first HVAC acquisition in Alabama and first move into the southeastern U.S.

Albireo Energy, the building automation and energy services platform backed by Huron Capital, has acquired Alabama Controls, a Pelham, Alabama-based provider of building automation and HVAC control solutions. The add-on expands Albireo's footprint into the southeastern U.S., deepens relationships in the government and higher education sectors, and retains current Alabama Controls management; financial terms were not disclosed.
