Hong Tong Technology Co. announced it acquired (in September 2024) Initio’s entire encryption storage product line, including USB bridge controller ICs with embedded crypto-engines, related firmware, ASICs, technical support, and associated intellectual property. The deal is positioned to keep Initio’s encryption-chip IP and manufacturing operations in Taiwan, managed from Hong Tong’s headquarters in Taipei. Hong Tong plans to integrate the encryption technology into its personal digital management solutions and expand encryption applications.
