Industrial Services Acquisitions in Arkansas

Middle-market private equity firm HKW has acquired Handling Systems and Conveyors, Inc. (HSC), a vertically integrated designer, manufacturer, installer and service provider of cranes, hoists, conveyors and tooling solutions. HKW said it will support HSC’s growth by expanding service penetration, investing in new geographic locations and pursuing strategic add-on acquisitions; financial terms were not disclosed.

Tavoron, a portfolio company of Fusion Capital Partners, acquired Arkansas Industrial Machinery (AIM) to expand its sales, service, and rental capabilities into Arkansas, Tennessee, and Louisiana. The add-on strengthens Tavoron's service network by bringing AIM's compressor, pump, and fluid-handling distribution, repair, and rental capabilities into the platform.

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety has acquired Encore Technology Solutions, a two‑branch fire and security systems integrator near Little Rock, Arkansas, marking Pye‑Barker’s entry into Arkansas (its 46th state). The deal brings Encore’s fire alarm, access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection and mass communication capabilities into Pye‑Barker’s national platform to expand geographic coverage and capabilities.

Michelli Weighing & Measurement, a Summit Park-backed platform, has completed a recapitalization of Pioneer Scale Company, a family-owned industrial weighing services provider headquartered in Benton, Arkansas. The deal expands Michelli's service footprint across Arkansas, Texas and Colorado and provides a partner for the Crews family as they transition ownership while strengthening the Michelli platform.

SFP Holding, Inc. (Summit Companies) announced that Summit Fire & Security LLC completed the acquisition of Fire Extinguisher Sales & Service (FESSAR) effective October 6, 2022. FESSAR — a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned business with two Arkansas locations and ~25 certified suppression technicians — will be integrated into Summit’s regional operations to expand fire suppression and life-safety services in Arkansas and the southern region.

Valence Surface Technologies, a PE-backed aerospace surface-finishing platform, has acquired B&M Painting, a Camden, Arkansas-based metal finishing and specialty coatings provider serving aerospace and defense primes. The deal—Valence's tenth add-on since formation and supported by majority owners ATL Partners and BCI—adds regional defense-focused coating capabilities while retaining B&M's existing management and workforce.

Pearlman Group, a portfolio company of The Stephens Group, acquired J. Dulac & Sons, Inc. dba Cleaners Connection, a North Little Rock-based specialty distributor of cleaning and restoration supplies. The add-on expands Pearlman's footprint in the cleaning & restoration market across the Midwest and South; financial terms were not disclosed.

Impact Fire, a subsidiary of AI Fire, has acquired Alarmtec Systems, a fire alarm, security and access control provider operating in the Little Rock, Arkansas area. The move expands Impact Fire's local service footprint and adds Alarmtec’s design, installation, inspection, repair and monitoring capabilities to Impact Fire/AI Fire’s platform.

Brady Industries, a portfolio company of A&M Capital Partners II (Alvarez & Marsal Capital), acquired a majority interest in Datek, Inc., a regional distributor of cleaning equipment and janitorial supplies headquartered in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The acquisition expands Brady’s geographic footprint to the East, enhances its supplier network, and adds ecommerce capabilities via Datek’s sweepscrub.com and stockmycloset.com platforms while diversifying end-market exposure into long-term care, commercial real estate and education.

Aalberts N.V. has acquired Applied Process, a specialty heat-treating company focused on austempering, from High Street Capital. Applied Process will remain an entity within Aalberts' Material Technology / Surface Technologies business and retain its brand and management team following the sale, which marks an exit for High Street Capital.
