Legal Services Acquisitions in Florida

U.S. Legal Support, a nationwide litigation support provider, has acquired Lynx Legal Services, a process-serving firm, to expand and strengthen its nationwide service-of-process capabilities. The acquisition brings Lynx’s process serving, skip tracing, evictions/foreclosures, and document retrieval capabilities into U.S. Legal Support’s broader litigation support platform, enhancing scale and client access to complementary services.

An affiliate of CCW Safe, LLC has acquired U.S. Legal Services, Inc., a nearly 50-year provider of legal protection plans. Kyle Sweet (CCW Safe) will assume control as chairman and CEO, with former USL CFO Renee Bateh promoted to president; Heritage Capital Group served as exclusive advisor and transaction terms were not disclosed.

a360inc, a San Antonio–based legal and credit risk technology and outsourcing provider, has acquired ProVest, a Tampa-based process and litigation information services firm that supports creditors, mortgage lenders, servicers and law firms. The transaction included a concurrent investment in a360inc by funds managed by Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Knox Capital and Nonantum Capital Partners to support expanded service offerings and technology integration.

KMW Legal and Swan Law have merged to form Keller Swan Injury Attorneys, a personal injury and criminal defense law firm headquartered in Jupiter, Florida. The combined firm operates ten offices across four states and expands the partners' capabilities in personal injury, property damage, workers' compensation and criminal defense.

RFE Investment Partners and Knox Capital completed a recapitalization of BryteBridge Group, an outsourced compliance, legal and filing services provider for nonprofit organizations. The transaction brings new executive leadership (Mike Bryant as CEO, Larry Marshall as CFO), keeps Brian Davis as President, and positions BryteBridge to expand into a technology-enabled full-service legal and compliance platform and pursue buy-and-build opportunities into the for-profit SMB market.

U.S. Legal Support has completed the acquisition of TrialEx, a Tampa-based provider of jury consulting, trial graphics, and trial presentation services. The deal expands U.S. Legal Support’s litigation support capabilities and national footprint by adding TrialEx’s team of litigation consultants, multimedia designers, medical illustrators, and forensic animators.

Consilio has completed the acquisition of the Adecco Group’s legal consulting and eDiscovery business units of Special Counsel, including D4 and EQ. The deal expands Consilio’s document review, legal process outsourcing and cyber incident response capabilities while Adecco retains its legal staffing and permanent placement units, which will transition to LHH Professional Recruitment.

Esquire Deposition Solutions acquired Honorable Reporting, a South Florida court reporting and litigation support firm, to strengthen its presence and service capacity in the Miami market. Founder Sharon Hodge will serve as President of Esquire’s Honorable Reporting division while the business continues to operate as a separate division under Esquire.

Computershare Limited has agreed to acquire the business and assets of Corporate Creations Enterprises LLC, a US registered agent and entity compliance services provider. The acquisition expands Computershare's registered agent capabilities and national US network, and is expected to close in Q1 2020 subject to regulatory review.

Trinity Hunt Partners, a Dallas-based private equity firm, acquired a majority interest in IMS ExpertServices, a Pensacola-based provider of expert witness search and placement services. The deal is a recapitalization intended to accelerate IMS's growth; senior debt was provided by Freeport Financial and company founders Bill Wein and Ted Gorder will remain as shareholders and management.
