Acquisitions in Iowa in 2018

American Securities LLC has closed its acquisition of CPM Holdings, Inc., a global designer and manufacturer of engineered process equipment for animal feed, oilseed processing, extrusion and thermal processing. The transaction was completed in partnership with CPM's management team; financial terms were not disclosed. CPM, headquartered in Waterloo, Iowa, has more than 1,000 employees and serves a global customer base across North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Involta has acquired Iowa-based cloud strategy and design firm BluPrairie, LLC to expand its public cloud and hybrid IT services. BluPrairie founder Michelle Bates will join Involta as Chief Innovation Officer as the firms combine public cloud expertise with Involta’s managed services offering to deliver hybrid cloud and managed solutions.

Eckhart, Inc., an LFM Capital-backed industrial automation and tooling company based in Warren, Michigan, has acquired Eagle Engineering, a custom weld-station and assembly-fixture manufacturer headquartered in Eldridge, Iowa. The acquisition expands Eckhart's manufacturing footprint and capability to deploy Industry 4.0 solutions to Eagle's aerospace, agriculture and heavy construction customers.

Epiphany Dermatology has expanded into Iowa through a partnership with Iowa Dermatology, Inc., a Pella-based dermatology practice founded by Dr. Jennifer Palmer. Under the agreement, Iowa Derm's providers and support staff have joined Epiphany to gain operational resources and support while Epiphany grows its multi-state provider network.

SNH Capital Partners has acquired ProMax, a Davenport, Iowa–based SaaS provider of marketing services and credit data for automotive retail dealers. The acquisition, terms undisclosed, expands SNH's presence in retail automotive solutions alongside its portfolio companies such as National Credit Center and gains ProMax's product and management capabilities.

MFG Partners LLC has acquired Mail Communications Group, LLC (MCG), a Des Moines-based provider of omnichannel mail, printing, lettershop and digital communications services, from Stone Arch Capital. Tecum Capital Partners and TCF National Bank provided financing for the transaction; Cleary Gull acted as exclusive financial advisor to MCG.
