Transportation Acquisitions in Wisconsin

GO Riteway Transportation Group, based in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, has acquired Westlund Bus Lines of Marinette, Wisconsin. The deal transfers 60 employees and 43 vehicles to GO Riteway, preserves service for the Marinette School District and city taxi program, and provides GO Riteway a strategic northern Wisconsin location while enabling owner Tom Westlund to retire.

Ascend LLC acquired Fuchs Trucking LLC, a Sauk City, Wisconsin-based dry van regional truckload carrier, to deepen Ascend's footprint in the upper Midwest and expand network capacity. Fuchs' president Jay Doescher and a partner will retain an investment in the business to help maintain continuity as the company is integrated into Ascend's asset-based and brokerage network.

Cox Automotive, through its Cox Automotive Mobility Fleet Services group, has acquired Trudell, the parent company of Trudell Trailers and Northeast Great Dane, adding trailer sales, direct parts distribution and heavy-duty trailer service capabilities to its fleet services portfolio. The deal brings Trudell's mobile on-site maintenance, shop repairs and parts sales (supported by more than 115 technicians across 13 locations) into Cox Automotive's nationwide fleet services network to expand capabilities and adjacency offerings.

Transportation Insight Holding Company (TI HoldCo), a Gryphon Investors-backed logistics platform, has acquired SwanLeap, a Madison-based transportation management software (TMS) provider. The deal integrates SwanLeap's multimodal TMS and analytics into TI HoldCo's brokerage, managed transportation and parcel solutions to create a single, multimodal execution and visibility platform.

Sam Zell’s private investment firm Equity Group Investments (EGI) has invested in Paper Transport, a Wisconsin-based for-hire truckload carrier. The partnership provides growth capital and strategic support while Paper Transport’s senior management remain in place and retain an ownership stake; proceeds will be used to pursue add-on acquisitions, expand brokerage and intermodal capabilities, and accelerate geographic growth.

Wabtec Corporation has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Nordco, a North American supplier of maintenance-of-way equipment, from Greenbriar Equity Group for $400 million in cash. The acquisition expands Wabtec’s maintenance-of-way and railcar mover offerings, adds Nordco’s aftermarket and inspection technology capabilities, and is expected to be immediately accretive to EBITDA and cash flow while delivering cost synergies.

Madison, Wisconsin-based Fleetworthy Solutions has acquired RapidLog, a 30+-year provider of hours-of-service (HOS) log auditing and ELD integration software. The deal expands Fleetworthy’s compliance platform by adding RapidLog’s broad ELD/TMS integrations and accelerated log-auditing capabilities to better serve motor carriers and fleets across the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

Transplace has acquired Lanehub, a Green Bay–based cloud platform that matches recurring freight lanes to connect shippers and carriers and reduce empty miles. The deal adds Lanehub's collaboration marketplace and customer base across CPG, food, retail, manufacturing and automotive to Transplace's transportation management and logistics technology capabilities.
