Engineering Services Add-on Acquisitions in 2026

SAM Companies has acquired Inland Geodetics, a Central Texas land surveying firm, expanding SAM's footprint and capabilities in geospatial services for water, transportation, and public-sector clients. Inland Geodetics brings a small team with deep local market knowledge and longstanding client relationships to support complex infrastructure programs across Central Texas.

Herzig Engineering, a national electrical safety and compliance firm backed by Copley Equity Partners, has acquired Martin Technical, a provider of lockout tagout, arc flash, infrared inspection and electrical reliability services. Financial terms were not disclosed; the deal will integrate Martin's employees into Herzig and expand Herzig's national coverage and service capabilities in electrical safety, reliability and training.

PRIME AE Group, a Platform Holdings–managed architecture and engineering platform, has acquired Klavon Design Associates, Inc., a Pittsburgh-based landscape architecture and planning firm founded in 1996. The add-on expands PRIME AE’s capabilities in landscape architecture, planning, sustainability and federal work, particularly strengthening its experience serving the Department of Defense and other government clients.

Agellus Capital has acquired Omaha-based Crux Consulting, a fire and life safety design, engineering, and consulting firm, and will integrate it into its Bluejack Fire & Life Safety platform. The add-on expands Bluejack's engineering and code/regulatory capabilities for federal, commercial, energy and industrial clients and broadens the platform's technical services and geographic reach.

SAM Companies has acquired Hyatt Survey Services, Inc., a Florida-based land surveying, mapping, and hydrographic firm with ~30 professionals. The deal expands SAM's presence and capabilities in Florida, adding surveying, aerial mapping/LiDAR and hydrographic services to better serve utilities, transportation and infrastructure clients across the Southeast.

Sciens Building Solutions, a Carlyle-backed fire and life safety platform, has acquired Southern Fire Control, a Pembroke Pines, Florida-based full-service fire sprinkler contractor founded in 1990. The add-on expands Sciens' presence in Florida to eight locations and increases the company's Florida headcount to nearly 600, broadening its capabilities across education, healthcare, hospitality and multi-family verticals.

Arora Engineers, a portfolio company of Jacmel Partners, has acquired J.A. Watts, LLC (JWI), a Chicago-based construction, program and project management firm. The add-on strengthens Arora's capabilities in program and construction management—particularly in aviation and transportation—enabling integrated services across planning, design and construction execution.

WSB LLC, a portfolio company of GHK Capital Partners, has acquired NEO Virtus Engineering, a Littleton, Massachusetts–based engineering consulting firm specializing in photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage system design. The add-on expands WSB's power/energy capabilities and geographic reach as part of its national energy practice build-out.

WSB LLC, a portfolio company of GHK Capital Partners LP, has acquired NEO Virtus Engineering, a Littleton, Massachusetts-based engineering consulting firm specializing in photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage system design. The add-on strengthens WSB’s power and energy practice by adding PV, energy storage, and power system engineering capabilities and expands geographic reach; WSB will integrate NEO Virtus and operate under the WSB brand in early 2026.

Salas O’Brien has merged with RFS Engineering, a New England-based MEP/structural/civil engineering firm, integrating RFS’s 100+ professionals and offices in Boston, Laconia (NH), and Portland (ME) into Salas O’Brien’s national platform. The combination broadens Salas O’Brien’s MEP/FP, structural, civil, sustainability, and commissioning capabilities across New England; AEC Advisors acted as exclusive financial advisor to RFS.

H&MV Engineering, a PE-backed high-voltage electrical engineering and construction firm, has acquired Cooke Power Services of Amarillo, Texas to accelerate its U.S. expansion. The acquisition strengthens H&MV’s local delivery in the Midwest and Southwest for data centre, renewables (BESS) and utility projects while retaining Cooke’s local leadership and workforce.

BNP Group, a Godspeed Capital–backed air transportation design and engineering platform, has acquired Airport Gurus, a Barcelona-based consultancy specializing in airport ICT and operations planning. The add-on expands BNP's digital transformation and airport operations capabilities and deepens its presence in Europe and South America; terms were not disclosed.

Verdantas, a PE-backed technical consulting firm, has acquired PACE Engineers, a Kirkland, Washington-based multidisciplinary engineering, surveying, and environmental consulting firm. The deal (terms undisclosed) expands Verdantas' multidisciplinary capabilities and Pacific Northwest footprint while providing additional resources and development opportunities for PACE staff.
