Lipman Family Farms has acquired Morristown, Tennessee–based roma tomato grower Shelton & Sons to strengthen its regional supply chain and ensure consistent roma tomato supply during the critical July–October season. Shelton & Sons will continue focusing on roma tomato production while leveraging Lipman’s nationwide infrastructure and resources.

Turf Care Supply, a portfolio company of Platte River Equity, has acquired Beaty Fertilizer, a family-owned manufacturer and blender of custom granular and liquid fertilizers for the turf & ornamental market. The add-on expands Turf Care's footprint in the Southeast United States, broadens its product portfolio and adds manufacturing capacity.

Valent BioSciences LLC, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd., has acquired FBSciences Holdings, Inc., a Collierville, Tennessee–headquartered developer of naturally derived biostimulants, biopesticides, and crop nutrition solutions. The acquisition strengthens Valent's capabilities and market position in the rapidly growing global biostimulant and biorationals market.

Patten Seed, a portfolio company of Heartwood Partners, has acquired Mid Tenn Turf to expand its turfgrass production and Super-Sod retail footprint into Tennessee. Mid Tenn operates over 2,400 acres across farm locations in Manchester and Benton, Tennessee, and will continue producing warm- and cool-season turfgrasses to supply Patten Seed’s product lines and retail channels.

Smoky Mountain Family Farms (SMFF), a family-run tomato farming and distribution operation based in Newport, Tennessee, has acquired Triple C Family Farms (Chandley Farms, LLC) of Midway, Tennessee to expand production and regional reach. The purchase triples SMFF's production heading into the 2021 season and supports the company's strategy to serve multiple U.S. regions while extending its fair labor programs into Tennessee.
