Automotive Acquisitions in Arizona

Crown Concepts, a Tucson-based performance automotive operator, has acquired Racing Equipment Sales (doing business as Radical Arizona) and signed a full dealership agreement with Radical Motorsport. The deal formalizes Crown Concepts' role as an official Radical dealer in Arizona and expands its sales, service, parts, engine rebuilds, and national-level racing support for Radical race cars.

Ed Morse Automotive Group acquired seven franchised auto dealerships and one used-vehicle store from Lawley Automotive Group, a deal that closed on August 26, 2024. The purchase—advised by the Dave Cantin Group—adds Ed Morse’s first locations in Arizona and increases the group’s total franchised dealership count to 56.

Kinderhook Industries, in partnership with founder Jacob Tilzer and investor LNC Partners, has acquired Kaizen Auto Care, a Scottsdale-based regional collision repair chain with 48 locations across the western U.S. Kaizen will be led by incoming CEO Vince Brock as Kinderhook looks to scale the business as part of its automotive / light manufacturing platform investments; financial terms were not disclosed.

Houston-based LAPIS, led by founder Todd Blue, acquired Mercedes‑Benz of Northern Arizona (formerly Mercedes‑Benz of Flagstaff) on December 19, 2023. The purchase includes the dealership real estate and the Mercedes‑Benz franchise; Mr. Blue will serve as Dealer Principal as LAPIS expands its luxury automotive retail presence in Northern Arizona.

Lazydays (Nasdaq: LAZY) has acquired Orangewood RV Center in Surprise, Arizona, renaming the location "Lazydays RV of Phoenix at Arrowhead." Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire all membership interests of True Blue Car Wash LLC, an operator of express tunnel car washes under the Clean Freak and Rainstorm brands. True Blue operates 65 locations across Arizona, Texas, Illinois and Indiana, with ~170,000 subscription members and strong proximity (85% within three miles) to Circle K locations, enabling cross-promotional opportunities.

Big Brand Tire (Phoenix) acquired three Arizona-based tire and auto service businesses — C&R Tire, S&S Tire & Auto Service Center, and Community Tire Pros & Auto Repair — in a transaction that closed in mid-December 2021. Barrett-Jackson Holdings has acquired Phoenix-based Collector Car Network Inc., owner of ClassicCars.com, AutoHunter and The ClassicCars.com Journal. The strategic acquisition brings Barrett-Jackson’s live auction and event expertise together with Collector Car Network’s large online buyer/seller marketplace to expand digital capabilities and grow the collector car market.

GB Auto Service, a portfolio company of Greenbriar Equity Group, has acquired Sun Devil Auto (doing business as Sun Auto Service outside Phoenix), adding 32 locations and expanding GB Auto's footprint to more than 160 tire and automotive service facilities. The acquisition is an add-on to GB Auto's platform to deepen its presence in the Western U.S.; Capstone Headwaters served as exclusive financial advisor to Sun Devil Auto.

Drew Technologies, an Opus IVS division of Opus Group AB, acquired AutoEnginuity, LLC — an aftermarket automotive diagnostics software provider headquartered in Mesa, Arizona — for approximately USD 20 million on a cash‑free, debt‑free basis. The acquisition expands Opus IVS's vehicle diagnostics and communication capabilities and adds coverage for 56 vehicle brands, intended to strengthen Opus' DrivePro/DriveCrash offerings and increase Opus' EBITA.
