Certara, Inc. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Chemaxon, a leading cheminformatics software provider, with the transaction expected to close in the second half of 2024, subject to regulatory approvals. The acquisition adds Chemaxon’s discovery-focused cheminformatics tools to Certara’s biosimulation portfolio, enabling a more comprehensive data and predictive-analytics platform spanning discovery through development.

Certerra Acquires Tierra, Inc.

Certerra, a technology-enabled testing, inspection and certification platform backed by OceanSound Partners, has acquired Tierra, Inc., a Tampa-based geotechnical and materials engineering firm with 27+ years of experience and over 210 employees. The deal expands Certerra's presence and capabilities in the U.S. Southeast—adding laboratory and field testing capacity in Tampa, Orlando and Pensacola—and will enhance service offerings to government, transportation, municipal and commercial infrastructure clients.

KPM Analytics (Union Park Capital) Acquires Sensortech Systems

KPM Analytics, a portfolio company of Union Park Capital, has acquired Sensortech Systems, Inc., an Oxnard, California-based manufacturer of near infrared (NIR) and radio frequency (RF) moisture measurement instruments. Sensortech will join KPM’s portfolio to expand its NIR technology offering and add RF capabilities; Sensortech’s CEO Colin Hanson and the existing management team will remain in place. Terms were not disclosed.

ChemREADY Acquires Waterra Corporation

ChemREADY, a Twinsburg, Ohio-based provider of industrial water and wastewater treatment chemicals, equipment and services, has acquired Waterra Corporation of Wexford, Pennsylvania. The acquisition fills a geographic coverage gap for ChemREADY in western Pennsylvania and expands its market share in eastern Ohio while retaining Waterra's president Michael Spence to support the transition.

Sensitech (Carrier) Acquires Berlinger & Co. AG Monitoring Solutions Business

Carrier Global Corporation, through its Sensitech business, completed the acquisition of the Monitoring Solutions business of Swiss family-owned Berlinger & Co. AG. The acquisition (about 85 employees across Switzerland, the Netherlands and the U.S.) expands Sensitech’s cold-chain monitoring portfolio with Berlinger’s conventional and real-time monitoring devices plus software and analytics, broadening reach into stationary monitoring and global health segments.

Bruker Corporation Acquires IonSense Inc.

Bruker Corporation has acquired IonSense Inc., the developer of ambient DART (Direct Analysis in Real Time) ionization technology. Bruker said the acquisition will accelerate development and applications of DART-MS across applied markets such as food analysis and forensics by leveraging Bruker's instrument platform and resources.
