Palm Beach Tan Acquires At The Beach Tanning Chain

Palm Beach Tan, Inc. announced the acquisition of At The Beach, adding 58 tanning-salon locations across Oklahoma, Kansas, southern California and Colorado. Many of the acquired locations will be owned and operated by long-time franchise operators — Bronze Body, LLC (27 locations), Old Trinity Partners, LLC (25 locations) and West Coast Tanning (6 locations) — and existing At The Beach memberships and employees will be integrated into Palm Beach Tan’s systems.

Branford Castle Partners Acquires Hoffman Engineering

Branford Castle Partners has acquired Hoffman Engineering, a Stamford-based maker of night-vision test equipment, imaging lighting systems and commercial aviation LED specialty lighting, from Trident Maritime Systems. The transaction was financed with senior debt from O2 Sponsor Finance and mezzanine debt and an equity co-investment from Brookside Capital Partners; Hoffman’s management team will remain in place and terms were not disclosed.

Branford Castle Acquires ABC Industries, Inc.

Branford Castle Partners acquired ABC Industries, Inc., a niche manufacturer and distributor of flexible ventilation solutions and technical fabrics headquartered in Warsaw, Indiana. Brookside Mezzanine Partners provided mezzanine debt and an equity co-investment to support the transaction, while TCF Capital Funding provided senior debt; terms were not disclosed.

Gauge Capital Recapitalizes Loving Tan

Gauge Capital has made a strategic recapitalization investment in Loving Tan, a Brisbane-based luxury sunless tan brand, and will partner with the founder and team to support global growth. As part of the transaction Gauge appointed Hilary Daly as CEO and intends to drive organic growth and pursue add-on acquisitions across sunless tan, suncare, and bodycare categories.

Valesco Acquires Earthlite from Branford Castle Partners

Valesco, a Dallas-based private equity firm, completed a majority buyout of Earthlite, LLC on July 3, 2024, acquiring the Vista, California–headquartered maker of massage tables and spa equipment from Branford Castle Partners Fund I. Valesco partnered with Earthlite management and provided subordinated debt as part of the transaction to support the company's growth in the luxury spa and wellness market.
