Symantec Corporation Acquires Altiris Inc. for $830M

Symantec Corporation agreed to acquire Altiris Inc. for approximately $830 million in cash ($33 per share) to expand its presence in the corporate software market. The deal, announced by Symantec, is expected to close in the second quarter pending regulatory and shareholder approvals and is intended to strengthen Symantec's enterprise management and IT asset-management capabilities.
