Investcorp Technology Partners Acquires Avira

Investcorp Technology Partners has agreed to acquire Avira Holding GmbH & Co KG and ALV GmbH & Co KG for approximately US$180 million. The investment gives Investcorp a majority stake in the German cybersecurity software provider to support Avira’s growth across its consumer and OEM markets and accelerate product and geographic expansion.

NortonLifeLock Completes Acquisition of Avast

NortonLifeLock has completed its previously announced acquisition of Avast, combining the two consumer cyber-safety businesses into a single public company. The transaction paid Avast shareholders a mix of NortonLifeLock shares and cash and will delist Avast from the London Stock Exchange; the combined company will operate under NortonLifeLock (pending a future name and ticker change).

Symantec Corporation Acquires Altiris Inc. for $830M

Symantec Corporation agreed to acquire Altiris Inc. for approximately $830 million in cash ($33 per share) to expand its presence in the corporate software market. The deal, announced by Symantec, is expected to close in the second quarter pending regulatory and shareholder approvals and is intended to strengthen Symantec's enterprise management and IT asset-management capabilities.

Avast Acquires SecureKey Technologies

Avast has agreed to acquire SecureKey Technologies, a Canada-based provider of digital identity and authentication solutions, to expand its Identity product and services portfolio. The acquisition (terms undisclosed) will bring SecureKey's products such as Verified.Me and Government Sign-In into Avast's digital trust offerings; the deal was expected to close in early April 2022.

LOCH Technologies Acquires Avirtek, Inc.

LOCH Technologies (LOCH.io) has acquired Avirtek, Inc., a Tucson-based developer of AI/ML-driven autonomic cybersecurity (ACS) technology, to integrate Avirtek's predictive data detection and response (DDR) capabilities into LOCH's AirShield platform. Avirtek founder Professor Salim Hariri will join LOCH as Senior Vice President of Research and Development to accelerate integration of behavior analytics and encrypted-traffic detection features.

Orange Acquires SecureLink from Investcorp for €515M

Orange has acquired SecureLink Group, a pan-European cybersecurity infrastructure and managed services provider, from Investcorp for an enterprise value of €515 million. Investcorp originally acquired SecureLink in 2015 and grew it via a buy-and-build strategy across Europe and China; Orange says the acquisition reinforces its cybersecurity operations in Europe and expands its managed security capabilities.
