EnergyHub has acquired Kapacity.io, a Helsinki-based specialist in heat pump optimization and residential flexibility, to accelerate demand-side flexibility and expand virtual power plant (VPP) capabilities into Europe. Kapacity.io will continue partnering with electricity retailers, heat pump manufacturers and system operators while leveraging EnergyHub's DERMS expertise and resources; EnergyHub is an independent subsidiary of Alarm.com.

EnergyHub Acquires Bridge to Renewables (BTR)

EnergyHub announced the acquisition of Bridge to Renewables (BTR) to accelerate utility managed-charging programs by integrating BTR's telematics-based EV solutions and OEM integrations into EnergyHub's cross-DER VPP platform. BTR brings integrations with 12 EV OEMs and connectivity to more than 500,000 vehicles, enabling faster OEM participation in utility programs and more engaging driver experiences via embeddable apps.

EnergyHub Acquires Resideo Grid Services

Resideo divested the unit to focus on its core residential sensing and controls business; financial terms were not disclosed.

Enverus Acquires Energy Acuity

Resource Innovations Acquires Shifted Energy

Resource Innovations (RI), a San Francisco–based utility software and consulting platform, has acquired Honolulu-based Shifted Energy to integrate its Grid Maestro DERMS technology into RI’s demand-side management (DSM) and grid-edge offerings. The deal expands RI’s capability to deliver end-to-end virtual power plant and flexible load management solutions at scale, with a focus on equitable access for renters and underserved communities.

Budderfly Acquires Sunverge Energy's DERMS Platform

Budderfly has acquired the distributed energy resource management system (DERMS) platform from Sunverge Energy, enabling Budderfly to aggregate distributed energy resources and build virtual power plants (VPPs). The acquisition includes Sunverge personnel joining Budderfly and expands Budderfly's capabilities to offer end-to-end VPP services to commercial customers and utilities, supporting grid flexibility and new revenue streams.
