Cogeco Connexion Acquires DERYtelecom for $405M

Cogeco Connexion, a Canadian subsidiary of Cogeco Communications Inc., has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire DERYtelecom for $405 million. DERYtelecom — based in Saguenay, Quebec — serves roughly 100,000 customers across 200+ municipalities and reported estimated FY2020 revenue of $105 million and adjusted EBITDA of $44 million; the deal is expected to close by Q2 FY2021 subject to regulatory approvals.

(d/b/a Cars Commerce) acquired Montreal-based D2C Media Inc. for CAD $105 million in cash (approximately USD $76 million) with up to CAD $35 million of potential performance-based consideration. The acquisition, which closed November 1, 2023, adds ~1,000 Canadian dealer customers and ~95 employees, accelerating Cars Commerce's geographic expansion into Canada and creating cross-selling opportunities across its Dealer Inspire and Accu-Trade brands.
