Cognizant has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Belcan, a global supplier of engineering R&D and digital engineering services, for approximately $1.3 billion in cash and stock. The acquisition expands Cognizant's ER&D capabilities and establishes a leadership position in the aerospace & defense market while preserving Belcan's brand and leadership under CEO Lance Kwasniewski.

Belcan Acquires Telesis Corporation

Belcan, a PE-backed global supplier of engineering and IT services, has acquired Telesis Corporation, a McLean, Virginia-based provider of federal IT services. The deal expands Belcan's Government IT Solutions capabilities—adding cybersecurity, C4ISR, cloud modernization and managed/IT services—and represents the 15th acquisition under Belcan's ownership by AE Industrial Partners. Terms were not disclosed.

BlueHalo Acquires Base2 Engineering and Fortego

BlueHalo, a national security engineering platform backed by Arlington Capital Partners, has completed acquisitions of Maryland-based Base2 LLC (Base2 Engineering) and Fortego LLC to expand its cyber and SIGINT capabilities. The add-ons bolster BlueHalo's cyber, SIGINT and CNO capabilities, add prime contracts and cleared technical staff, and support the platform's strategy to grow its presence in defense and intelligence markets.

Belcan Acquires AVISTA

The deal brings Cloud2's Microsoft Gold accreditation and public sector/healthcare expertise into BCN's offering, further expanding its analytics, PowerApps and PowerBI capabilities for NHS and other public sector clients across the UK.
