Bertram Capital Invests in Bulk Reef Supply

Bertram Capital has made an investment in Bulk Reef Supply (BRS), a Golden Valley, Minnesota-based ecommerce retailer and content platform for saltwater aquarium enthusiasts. Terms were not disclosed; Bertram said it will partner with founders Ryan Batcheller and Andrew Duneman and apply its Bertram High-5 and Bertram Labs capabilities to accelerate BRS's growth.

Bertram Capital has consolidated several aquarium and pet brands — including Bulk Reef Supply (and Marine Depot), Neptune Systems, EcoTech Marine (and AquaIllumination) and Leap Habitats — into a single platform called Aperture Pet & Life. The move brings together e-commerce, manufacturing, and distribution capabilities under a PE-backed operating company to accelerate product development, cross-brand integration, and global distribution.

Quench Acquires Neptune Water Solutions

ShoreMaster/HydroHoist (Waterfront Brands) Acquires Neptune Boat Lifts

ShoreMaster (which merged with HydroHoist) announced the acquisition of Neptune Boat Lifts, a Fort Lauderdale-based manufacturer of saltwater boat lifts. The deal expands ShoreMaster/HydroHoist's product portfolio into the salt-water market and adds Neptune's dealer and installer network across Florida and the Caribbean.

Vår Energi Acquires Neptune Energy Norge AS

Vår Energi ASA completed the acquisition of 100% of the shares in Neptune Energy Norge AS, strengthening its position on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and adding ~67 kboepd of production and ~265 mmboe of 2P reserves. The transaction was agreed at an enterprise value of USD 2.275 billion and closed on 31 January 2024 (effective date 1 January 2023); net cash consideration paid on completion (less cash in Neptune Norway) was approximately USD 1.2 billion. The deal increases Vår Energi's scale, operatorships and gas/LNG exposure and is inter-conditional with a separate transaction in which Eni acquires the remainder of Neptune's global assets.
