Geomagic Acquires Sensable's 3D Design and Haptics Businesses

Geomagic completed the acquisition of Sensable Technologies, Inc.'s 3D design and haptics businesses, bringing Sensable's FreeForm/ClayTools software and Phantom haptic device technology into Geomagic's product portfolio. The deal expands Geomagic's capabilities for tactile (haptic) input and voxel-based modeling to complement its existing 3D scan-to-design and inspection software, while Sensable's dental products were excluded from the sale.

KEYW Corporation announced it will acquire Sensage, Inc., a Redwood City-based provider of SIEM and event data warehousing software, to expand KEYW's commercial market opportunity and support its Project G Cyber Awareness and Response Platform. The transaction consideration is up to $34.5 million (cash and KEYW stock) and is expected to close in October 2012, subject to Sensage equity holder approval and customary closing conditions.
