Hexagon Acquires 3D Systems' Geomagic Suite and Septentrio NV

Hexagon AB has completed two acquisitions: the Geomagic software suite from 3D Systems and GNSS specialist Septentrio NV. Geomagic will operate within Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division while Septentrio will be consolidated into Hexagon’s Autonomous Solutions division; the transactions closed following regulatory approvals and are expected to generate one-off integration and separation costs of ~40 MEUR.

Geomagic Acquires Sensable's 3D Design and Haptics Businesses

Geomagic completed the acquisition of Sensable Technologies, Inc.'s 3D design and haptics businesses, bringing Sensable's FreeForm/ClayTools software and Phantom haptic device technology into Geomagic's product portfolio. The deal expands Geomagic's capabilities for tactile (haptic) input and voxel-based modeling to complement its existing 3D scan-to-design and inspection software, while Sensable's dental products were excluded from the sale.

ZEISS Acquires Capture 3D

ZEISS Group has agreed to acquire Capture 3D, a US-based leading partner for GOM 3D non-contact measuring solutions, to strengthen its Industrial Quality & Research segment and expand national coverage in the United States. Capture 3D, headquartered in Santa Ana, California with ~100 employees and roughly $44 million in 2019 revenue, will join ZEISS' Industrial Quality Solutions business unit; financial terms were not disclosed and the deal is subject to regulatory approval.

Ansys Acquires Analytical Graphics, Inc. for $700M

Altair Acquires Gen3D

Altair acquired Gen3D, a University of Bath spinout that developed implicit-geometry generative design technology for additive manufacturing. The Gen3D technology will be integrated into Altair Inspire to expand Altair's design-for-additive-manufacturing and generative-design capabilities across industries such as aerospace, automotive and medical.

insightsoftware Acquires Magnitude

insightsoftware has agreed to acquire Magnitude, a provider of operational reporting, ERP reporting (SAP/Oracle) and data-integration solutions, to expand its operational reporting and embedded analytics capabilities. The deal, expected to close in early November 2021, will extend insightsoftware's global presence and add Magnitude's SAP/Oracle expertise and centers of excellence in North America, Europe and India.
