AAMP Global Acquires M2M in Motion

AAMP Global has acquired M2M in Motion, a fleet intelligence and telematics software provider, to integrate fleet management software into its automotive hardware and aftermarket product portfolio. The acquisition will combine M2M in Motion’s Fleet Motion platform with AAMP’s engineering, manufacturing and installer network to accelerate product development and broaden offerings for commercial and passenger vehicle customers.

Sensata Technologies Acquires SmartWitness

Sensata Technologies has acquired SmartWitness Holdings, Inc., a provider of video telematics hardware, software and analytics for commercial fleets, to expand Sensata Insights’ video-based data and safety capabilities. Financial terms were not disclosed; the deal was expected to close in Q4 2021 and adds SmartWitness’s ~85 employees and more than 250,000 deployed devices to Sensata’s fleet solutions portfolio.

OptConnect (Graham Partners) Acquires M2M DataGlobal

OptConnect, a Graham Partners portfolio company, has completed an add-on acquisition of Chile-headquartered M2M DataGlobal. The deal expands OptConnect's managed wireless IoT connectivity platform into Latin America, adding managed connectivity, hardware, and telematics capabilities across multiple countries in the region.

Sensata Technologies Acquires Xirgo Technologies for $400M

Sensata Technologies agreed to acquire Xirgo Technologies Intermediate Holdings, LLC for $400 million to accelerate its Smart & Connected initiative and expand capabilities in telematics, IoT devices and data insight for fleet and transportation customers. Xirgo reported expected 2021 revenue above $100 million and the deal is expected to be accretive to Sensata's adjusted net income per share in 2021; the transaction closed after customary approvals in early 2021.

QuickLogic Acquires SensiML Corporation

QuickLogic Corporation has acquired SensiML Corporation, a SaaS edge/endpoint AI software provider; terms were not disclosed and the deal was funded in QuickLogic common stock. SensiML will operate as a division of QuickLogic and continue developing its platform-independent Analytics Toolkit to support a broad set of SoCs, adding SaaS revenue and edge-AI capabilities to QuickLogic's semiconductor and eFPGA offerings.

Sensata Technologies Acquires Spear Power Systems

Sensata Technologies has agreed to acquire Spear Power Systems, a Grandview, Missouri-based developer and manufacturer of advanced energy storage systems, to advance Sensata's electrification strategy. The deal (financial terms undisclosed) brings Spear's team — including more than 40 engineers — and its battery management and energy storage capabilities into Sensata to expand its clean energy and OEM solutions.
