AMETEK, Inc. has acquired Kern Microtechnik, a German manufacturer of ultra‑precision machining equipment and optical inspection systems, to bolster AMETEK's Ultra Precision Technologies capabilities within its Electronic Instruments Group. Kern is headquartered near Munich, Germany and generates approximately €50 million in annual sales; AMETEK cited technology, market and geographic expansion synergies from the transaction.

Teledyne will also purchase ETM's purpose-built manufacturing facility from an affiliate of ETM and its owners; financial terms were not disclosed.
