AMETEK, Inc. has completed its acquisition of FARO Technologies, Inc. for $44.00 per share in cash (approximately $920 million, net of cash acquired). FARO will join AMETEK's Ultra Precision Technologies Division within the Electronic Instruments Group, adding 3D metrology, imaging, software and service capabilities to AMETEK's industrial technology portfolio; FARO reported annual sales of roughly $340 million.

Abaco, headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama, is a provider of rugged embedded computing systems for aerospace, defense and specialized industrial markets with approximately $325 million in annual sales; the acquisition will fold Abaco into AMETEK's Electronic Instruments Group and is expected to close mid-2021 subject to customary approvals.
