Cinven to acquire Viridium and combine it with Generali Lebensversicherung AG

Cinven's Sixth Fund has agreed to acquire the Viridium Group and provide equity for Viridium to acquire Generali Lebensversicherung AG, creating a leading consolidator in the German life insurance market. The combination will bring together roughly 5 million policies and around €55–60 billion of assets under management, with Generali Deutschland retaining a 10.1% stake and Hannover Re reinvesting in the combined entity.

Viridium Group Acquires Traditional Life Insurance Portfolio from Zurich Deutscher Herold

Viridium Group has signed an agreement with Zurich Group Germany to acquire a portfolio of around 720,000 traditional life insurance policies (approximately €21 billion AUM) from Zurich Deutscher Herold Lebensversicherung AG. The portfolio will be migrated to the Viridium platform under a new brand, with service agreements in place for a three-year transition and regulatory approval required prior to closing.

Cinven to Acquire Finaxy Group from Ardian

Private equity firm Cinven has entered exclusive negotiations to acquire the Finaxy group from Ardian, with Finaxy management (led by Founder & CEO Erick Berville) set to significantly reinvest alongside Cinven. Headquartered in Paris, Finaxy is a multi-specialist French insurance broker with over 330 employees and more than €700 million in premiums; Cinven will invest from its Strategic Financials Fund and aims to accelerate Finaxy's buy-and-build growth across France and internationally.

Rivean Capital Acquires CED Group from BlackFin Capital Partners

BlackRock Real Assets Acquires Vanguard Renewables from Vision Ridge Partners

BlackRock will partner with Vanguard Renewables' management to scale the company's organics-to-renewable energy platform, supporting plans to commission more than 100 anaerobic digesters to produce renewable natural gas across the United States.

Ardian-led Consortium Acquires Vulcain Engineering (LBO)

Ardian is leading a consortium including Tikehau Capital, EMZ, Bpifrance, Amundi and the Fonds France Nucléaire (managed by Siparex) in a leveraged buyout of Vulcain Engineering. The transaction effects the exit of existing shareholders Equistone Partners Europe and Sagard while co-CEOs Frédéric Grard and Alban Guilloteau and more than 350 employee-shareholders strengthen their positions. The new financing will provide resources to accelerate Vulcain's international expansion, digitisation of engineering processes and continued external growth via acquisitions.
