ProSmile, a TriSpan-backed multi-specialty dental services organization, completed the acquisition of Destiny Dental practices across Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin, adding 20 offices and establishing ProSmile's presence in the Midwest. Funds affiliated with private equity firm TriSpan LLP have acquired SmartArches Dental Implants from ProSmile in a recapitalization that establishes SmartArches as a standalone specialty dental implant and reconstruction services company. SmartArches operates eight locations across Florida, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey and will use the investment to support geographic expansion and scale its implant and full-mouth reconstruction services.

Pro forma the transaction, the combined organization will manage 79 multi-specialty practices employing over 200 dentists and more than 130 corporate staff.

Smile Brands Acquires Midwest Dental

Smile Brands Inc., a portfolio company of Gryphon Investors, completed the acquisition of Midwest Dental, a Dental Support Organization with over 230 offices headquartered in Mondovi, Wisconsin. The combination creates one of the largest DSOs in the U.S., representing approximately 650 offices and over 8,000 employees across 30 states; terms were not disclosed.
