Smile Brands Acquires Midwest Dental

Smile Brands Inc., a portfolio company of Gryphon Investors, completed the acquisition of Midwest Dental, a Dental Support Organization with over 230 offices headquartered in Mondovi, Wisconsin. The combination creates one of the largest DSOs in the U.S., representing approximately 650 offices and over 8,000 employees across 30 states; terms were not disclosed.

TriSpan Recapitalizes SmartArches Dental Implants from ProSmile

Funds affiliated with private equity firm TriSpan LLP have acquired SmartArches Dental Implants from ProSmile in a recapitalization that establishes SmartArches as a standalone specialty dental implant and reconstruction services company. SmartArches operates eight locations across Florida, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey and will use the investment to support geographic expansion and scale its implant and full-mouth reconstruction services.

TriSpan-backed PG Dental Acquires 17 Dental Practices in New Jersey and Pennsylvania

Smile Design operates 60 dental practices across Florida with a clinical and support team of more than 300 employees; the deal (an add-on to Heartland's DSO platform) closed on September 5, 2025 and expands Heartland's presence and clinical support capabilities in Florida.

PG Dental Holdings Merges with Allied Dental Holdings

PG Dental Holdings, backed by TriSpan, has completed a merger with Allied Dental Holdings to create the largest dental service organization (DSO) footprint in New Jersey and expand presence in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Pro forma the transaction, the combined organization will manage 79 multi-specialty practices employing over 200 dentists and more than 130 corporate staff.
