Advania Acquires Visolit from IK Investment Partners

Advania AB has reached an agreement with IK Investment Partners for the acquisition of Visolit AS, combining two leading Nordic IT service providers to create a larger full-service IT group. The combined business will have pro forma turnover in excess of SEK 9 billion (2021) and approximately 2,550 employees, with Goldman Sachs Asset Management remaining majority shareholder and IK joining as a minority investor in the merged group.

Hg-backed software group Visma expanded its shareholder base in a transaction valuing the company at EUR 19 billion, welcoming around 20 new investors and raising over €1bn from new investors plus roughly €3bn of new investment from existing shareholders. Hg’s Saturn team led a consortium of existing and new investors — including GIC, CPPIB, TPG, Warburg Pincus, General Atlantic and ICG — in a transaction that buys Montagu’s stake in Visma and values the company at NOK 110 billion (US$12.2 billion), the largest-ever software buyout. The deal recapitalizes Visma’s investor base (Hg retaining ~54% post-transaction) and brings additional growth capital to the Oslo-headquartered SaaS leader, which employs over 11,000 people and serves more than one million business customers.

Questel Acquires NovumIP (Novagraaf and PAVIS)

Questel has signed an agreement to acquire NovumIP, the group formed by European IP services leaders Novagraaf and PAVIS, to expand its IP management and renewals capabilities. The deal is being financed by investors including Eurazeo Capital, IK Investment Partners and RAISE Investissement, with Paragon Fund III (an affiliate of NovumIP’s majority shareholder) participating as a financial investor in Questel.
