Westinghouse Electric Company has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Laveer Engineering, a specialized nuclear engineering firm headquartered in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. The acquisition expands Westinghouse's CANDU capabilities—adding tooling, plant design and outage maintenance expertise—and strengthens its service offerings to CANDU reactor operators worldwide; the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
