Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany completed the acquisition of Unity‑SC, a French provider of metrology and inspection instrumentation, for €155 million plus milestone-based payments. The deal (Unity‑SC, based in Montbonnot‑Saint‑Martin, France, with ~160 employees) expands Merck’s electronics/display capabilities into advanced metrology to strengthen its newly positioned Optronics offering and better serve semiconductor, AI/HPC and advanced packaging markets.
