EFC will operate as a standalone business within Element Solutions' newly formed Specialties segment, bringing specialty and rare gases plus advanced materials capabilities targeted at semiconductor manufacturing, electrical transmission infrastructure, and space applications.

Ecovyst expects net proceeds of about $530 million (using $465 million to pay down term debt), while Technip said the deal expands its catalysts and advanced materials capabilities to support sustainable fuels, circular chemistry and carbon-capture applications.

Element Solutions Inc has agreed to acquire Coventya, a France-headquartered specialty chemicals manufacturer focused on surface treatment, from private equity firm Silverfleet Capital. The sale — subject to regulatory approvals and expected to close in Q3/Q4 2021 — generates a reported c.2.5x gross money multiple for Silverfleet; Coventya employs around 700 people and was forecast to generate roughly €160 million of revenue in 2021.
