Element Solutions Inc Acquires Coventya from Silverfleet Capital

Element Solutions Inc has agreed to acquire Coventya, a France-headquartered specialty chemicals manufacturer focused on surface treatment, from private equity firm Silverfleet Capital. The sale — subject to regulatory approvals and expected to close in Q3/Q4 2021 — generates a reported c.2.5x gross money multiple for Silverfleet; Coventya employs around 700 people and was forecast to generate roughly €160 million of revenue in 2021.

Ecovyst expects net proceeds of about $530 million (using $465 million to pay down term debt), while Technip said the deal expands its catalysts and advanced materials capabilities to support sustainable fuels, circular chemistry and carbon-capture applications.
