Bakery Humanity Inc., a Quebec-based bakery investment platform controlled by a group of investors led by Champlain Financial Corporation, has acquired Les Aliments 2000 Inc., a producer of pie crusts, pizzas and pizza balls. The acquisition expands Bakery Humanity’s product portfolio and names Dominique Bohec as president & CEO of the Les Aliments 2000 business; financial terms were not disclosed.

The deal (subject to customary approvals, including CADE) gives Lesaffre control of Biorigin's production footprint in São Paulo (including a plant in Quatá) and is intended to expand Lesaffre's yeast-derivative capabilities and global savory-ingredient supply; the move follows Lesaffre's related collaboration to acquire DSM-Firmenich's yeast-extract go-to-market organization and know-how.
