Alcott Enterprises Acquires Shadow Systems

Alcott Enterprises announced the acquisition of Shadow Systems, a family-owned, award-winning IT service provider based in Southern California founded in 1999 by Bill Yount. The deal transfers Shadow Systems into Alcott as a new division (finalization expected by August) to continue the Yount family legacy and expand Alcott’s managed services and government/aerospace/healthcare capabilities.

PhotoShelter Acquires Third Light

PhotoShelter, a PE-backed provider of cloud-based digital asset management (DAM) software, acquired UK-based Third Light to expand its DAM capabilities, product portfolio (including Third Light's Chorus application), and European footprint. The deal, completed in partnership with PhotoShelter investor Clearhaven Partners, adds a Cambridge-based team and over 300 Third Light customers to PhotoShelter’s platform; financial terms were not disclosed.

Silver Lake Commits $500M Strategic Investment in Shadowbox Studios

Silver Lake has made a $500 million strategic capital commitment to Shadowbox Studios (formerly Blackhall Studios) in a recapitalization that supports over $1.5 billion of planned soundstage development across Atlanta, London and Los Angeles. Commonwealth Asset Management remains the majority shareholder; the funding will accelerate geographic expansion and incremental production services while Silver Lake takes board representation.
