Wolters Kluwer (through its Wolters Kluwer Health / Lippincott journal business) has acquired IJS Publishing Group (IJSPG), a UK-based open‑access publisher of peer‑reviewed surgery-focused medical journals. The deal adds IJSPG’s portfolio of journals to the Lippincott portfolio and strengthens Wolters Kluwer’s open‑access publishing capabilities and surgical research coverage.

Wiley Acquires Zyante Inc.

John Wiley & Sons, Inc. announced it has signed an agreement to acquire Zyante Inc., the maker of the zyBooks web-native interactive courseware, for $56 million in cash. The acquisition brings zyBooks' high-impact computing and STEM courseware—used by hundreds of institutions and over 500,000 students—into Wiley's digital learning portfolio to expand its digital education capabilities.

Waterstones Acquires Blackwell's

Waterstones — controlled by Elliott and already owner of Foyles — said it will preserve Blackwell's identity while investing in its shops, people and eCommerce operation; the sale ends 143 years of Blackwell family ownership.

AIP Publishing Acquires University Science Books
